Cari amici, ormai certi di avervi fatti appassionare tutti al mondo delle api siamo pronti per un nuovo aggiornamento.
Come forse alcuni di voi ricorderanno la primavera è il periodo prediletto per la sciamatura.
Per chi non lo sapesse ricordiamo cos’è:
Il fenomeno della sciamatura, che deve essere monitorato e tenuto sotto controllo, consiste nella dipartita di una parte della famiglia delle api guidate dalla regina alla ricerca di una nuova casa. La dipartita della regina e del suo seguito dipende dal fatto che nell’alveare è nata una nuova regina pronta a rimpiazzare quella vecchia. Il volo in genere dura solo qualche metro, anche se a volte possono arrivare a fare i chilometri, e la famiglia in viaggio può posarsi ipoteticamente ovunque anche se in genere i rami degli alberi sono tra le soste preferite. Le api prima di partire invece che fare i bagagli fanno scorta di cibo, ovvero di dolcissimo miele, in previsione del periodo in cui non avranno nutrimento essendo sprovviste di casa. In questi primissimi giorni l’apicoltore può intervenire e provvedere alla cattura dello sciame dando alle api una nuova casa. 
Quindi occhi e orecchie aperti! Se avvistate uno sciame non spaventatevi: le api non sono pericolose se lasciate in pace, ricordate inoltre che sono in un momento difficile della loro vita perché momentaneamente senza casa. La cosa giusta da fare è innanzitutto assicurarsi che nessuno (persone o animali) si avvicini allo sciame, circoscrivete la zona se potete e successivamente chiamate un apicoltore, come noi ad esempio (045 913797). Ricordate che le api sono specie protetta e non potete assolutamente usare veleni contro di loro. Se non conoscete nessun apicoltore chiamate i Vigili del Fuoco (115), saranno loro a chiamare un apicoltore per voi. L’operazione di cattura durerà circa un giorno, prima verrà raccolto lo sciame e solo quando è buio le api potranno essere trasportate verso una nuova dimora.

SWARMS ALARM!!!

As maybe you could remember, spring is the favourite period for swarm migration.
For everybody who doesn’t know what this phenomenon is:
The swarm migration, which deserves to be supervised and hold in check, involves the departure of part of bee’s family lead by the queen bee in the act of searching a new home. The queen bee and her family’s departure depends on the fact that in the beehive is born a new queen ready to replace the old one. The fly generally takes just a few meters, even if sometimes bees could move themselves for kilometers, and the travelling family could theoretically move everywhere, even if usually the branches of trees are the favourites areas. Before leaving, bees instead of luggage lay in food, which is the sweet honey, with a view to the period without nourishment being lacking in home. In those first days the beekeeper could intervene and provide to the catch of swarm, giving to bees a new home to stay in.
So keep eyes and ears open! If you see a swarm don’t worry: bees are not dangerous if let be in peace, furthermore remember that they are in a hard time of their life as well as temporally without home. The right thing to do is first of all be sure that anybody (people or animals) approaches the swarm, than if it’s possible confine the area and finally call a beekeeper, just like us. Remember that bees are a preserved wildlife and it’s strictly forbidden to use venoms against them. If you don’t know any beekeeper, you can call the Firemen (for Italy: 115), and they will call a beekeeper for you. The capture operation will take about one day, at first the swarm will be gather together and only when it’ll be dark bees will be carry to a new dwelling.
